AES-GCM checks integrity, so tampered text is rejected rather than decrypted wrongly.
Privacy: where the work happens
Everything you enter or choose is processed by JavaScript in your browser and never sent anywhere. Only the page code, and any library this tool needs, is downloaded from cdnjs or jsDelivr.
Questions
Can it decrypt other tools’ output?
No. It only reads text made by this site’s encryption tool.
Why do I get a wrong password message?
Either the password is different or the text was changed, even by one character.
