Good to know
Test printed barcodes with a scanner before mass printing, and leave a blank margin around the code. Code 128 accepts any text, while EAN and UPC need digits only.

Which format should I use?
Code 128 for general text, EAN-13 or UPC-A for retail products.
Does the tool register product codes?
No. Retail EAN and UPC numbers must be obtained from GS1, the official numbering organization.
